Include BIM 360 Metadata Downloaded File Properties

Write BIM 360 metadata to file properties on download.

Design Collaboration Change Visualization fails when the name of a model file is changed. It is therefore not possible to update the status of a model through renaming (suitability or revision). Using metadata (attributes) this is possible in the BIM 360 Common Data Environment, but the metadata does not port to the model file properties if it is downloaded. Hence there is no way to ascertain at a glance what the file is suitable for, or which revision it is. The forum discussion can be found here:

This is critical for us.

Once downloaded the file you don't know which revision is and so on.

While it would be ideal that all stakeholders worked only in cloud, this isn't the reality.

This function would help us a lot!
