Hello djc1984,
Thank you for contacting Autodesk.
I assume that you are using the the updated subcontractor experience, as the classic subcontractor experience has minimal functionality by comparison. Users assigned to the subcontractor role in projects that are using the classic subcontractor experience would not have access to equipment records and would only have limited access to checklists through task assignment.
Are you looking to restrict subcontractors from linking previously created checklists to equipment records or from linking checklist templates to equipment records?
In regards to linking previously created checklists, users would have to be assigned project admin rights. Users that are assigned to the subcontractor user role cannot also be project admin, either within the classic or updated subcontractor experience.
There is not an explicit permission to prevent users from linking checklist templates to equipment records for any user role. If you were looking to restrict users assigned to the updated subcontractor experience from linking checklists, this could be accomplished by editing the equipment and checklist permissions for the subcontractor role within the Field project admin area. Depending on the functions that you are looking for users assigned to this role to be able to provide within the project, this may have an effect on other checklist and equipment workflows.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Regards,
Don
