Hello
I need to make a 3d model from 2d plans. I really don't know if there is any autodesk product that can do this. What to do?

What, if any, Autodesk products do you currently have on hand and what is your line of work - Architecture, construction, etc?

What type of plans? Do you have a CAD file or just paper? What will the Model be used for? Most importantly - Do you know what the elevation and/or height of everything is?

Google Sketchup (the free version) is a good place to start for a beginner IMHO: if you need to do more after that it will become pretty obvious after your model's creation then you can come back with detailed questions about your additional needs.

I am not sure if this Google programme will be enough to prepare a model that would be usable in Ansys Fluent...

Hi margomichalak,
The information you've provided so far is still pretty vague, but it sounds like you'll want to try a mechanical design software such as Autodesk Inventor for building your glider. You can download a 30 day trial:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

I just saw in Shaan Hurley's blog Between the Lines that the 2D to 3D tool for Inventor on Autodesk Labs was one of the top 10 for 2012!
