I am the Computer / Network Specialist for a Manufacturing company that design and assemble Valves and Stainers. Everytime I have to configure a new Autodesk Suite version. My Engineers / 3D Drafters had told me several times why doesn't Autodesk make a suite that has.
* Autodesk Inventor Professional.
* AutoCAD Mechanical
* Autodesk Vault client Basic. (for future project in the works)
Called it Autodesk 2014 Essentials Suite and sell it to us at a real good price and they keep coming with names for this new suite. Autodesk Inventor Essentials 2014. Other division in our company seems to had pretty much the same needs. Just odd that Autodesk don't have thought about a Autodesk Suite with this tools by know. Just a simple suite with the tools we need only.
It be awesome if Autodesk could come up with a new suite that only has the tools my Engineering department need. Right know we are using Autodesk Inventor PDSP 2012 and Autodesk Inventor Suite PDSS 2013.
I just listen to them but, I am just a PC Tech for my company division. What do I know about this thing. The most I have tinker with is AutoCAD LT. What you guys think? It's this even possible? Will Autodesk finish selling a lot more of these Autodesk Inventor 2014 Essentials Suites? Just a thought from my Engineering team. Thought I share.
Everybody have a great day.
Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium does come with all three things you seek, and then some.
I've had that thought myself, being on the facilities side. I don't hold out much hope for it, but, I went so far as to provide them with the marketing slide for the product suite I proposed for us cafm folks:
Thats.... not too shabby. How long before the first major BIM-type facilities start hitting their first major updates (baby boomers, but buildings...) where all of this information capture and management will really shine?
