warpage model

Hi,
after a warpage analysis, is it possible to export a warpage solid model?!?

I need a file (.iges or. step) with the deflection model.
After, I import this in my CAD system and I compare it with the initial mathematics.

Thanks

Hi biricio,

The results are generated as a polygon mesh so the only way to export polygon geometry is via one of the polygon mesh formats, .obj ,.stl, 3ds etc. Moldflow offers STL which I have imported into my CAD software with no problems also for comparison with the math model.

To export a warp model select the deflection analysis you require and click Results > Export Warpage Mesh/Geometry and select the options you need.

Cheers

Thanks.
Unfortunately my cad doesn't import these formats
Is possible to export a .iges. or .step model?!?

Hi biricio

As far as I know, I don't think .iges or step can handle polygon mesh data.
What cad program are you using?

Hello,

If you have Geomagic Studio and depending on the complexity of the geometry you could easily crate NURB surfaces (and export surf. iges) from the polygons, accurate enough for visual comparison.

Thanks. Maybe also with Rhino.

How come, second you, MPI export iges model (from File > Export) but not iges warpage model?!?

reading STL in catia is possible. reverse engineering with the warped mesh is also possible.

if you want to read in STL in CATIA V5 you need the DSE-license in Catia
reverse engineering is possible by DSE and RSO

Thank uwe.schilling .
I'll check if I have the license. I hope yes.
With catia is always question of licenses 🙂
