Over Max. Shear Rate

Hi All,

I know that if the shear rate is over the resin's maximum value, it will cause some problems, but what are the problems??
Thanks!!

excessive shear rate will always mean material degradation (material property loss), embrittlement (functional issues) and poor surface finish (appearance issues).

this degradation can be translated into a different kind of issues, such as: splay, discoloration, delamination and maybe burn marks as well (to mention only some of them).

you can find tons of info on the help menu about this topic...hope it helps!

some material will be shear sensitive, they will result in degradation of required materials properties of
that material, breaks molecular chains , breaks fibres, reducion in L/d ratio of fibre, rise in temeprature , burn marks ,

and so on Edited by: madhukeshwart on Aug 3, 2009 5:26 PM

if insufficient mesh density be used (such as gate zone). sometimes the shear rate will be over predicted. Edited by: paulwang416 on Sep 1, 2009 10:10 AM
