Non-Manifold geometry - Contradictory information from diagnostics

Hi,

I'm trying to mesh a 3D mold block for a FEM Cool analysis. The surface mesh looks fine, but when I go to create a 3D mesh, i get the error that meshing has failed due to surface defects. The mesh log says there are 6 non-manifold edges, but I cannot locate any of them using the various diagnostic tools. Free edges text diagnostic says 0 free or non-manifold edges and none are highlighted when I use the mesh display. I also looked at element orientation and at intersections, but I cannot find anything wrong (other than the aspect ratio you see here)

What do I need to do to mesh this mold block? It's a very complex multicavity inserted job with over 4 million part elements, so I don't want to start over from nothing if I can avoid it.

Please see attached image for more information.

I never meshed a mold in 3D.

But I think your trouble don't comes from the manifold edges.
I believe Moldflow cannot mesh a part when the maximum ratio is superior to 50.

So try to correct that.

Once in a blue moon, I do encounter unexplainable errors when trying to mesh 3D from Dual Domain mesh. One great tip I received from Autodesk support is to export the DD model to patran format > import back > mesh 3D. Works every time. You may want to try that.

hello,

please can any one help me. im working on fill+package+cooling.

i tried to generate 3D mesh mold but it failed due to those errors

ERROR 1900128: "3D mesh failed for this component because of surface defects" in Moldflow inisight

and ** Error 1900136 ** 3D mold meshing not completed due to surface errors.

that s what i did

Imported part file (step)

meshed the part into 3D, checked mesh-->OK,

Added  CAD channels (STEP),convert to 3D channels.

Put on cones, in-output locations,

Created Mold block with Wizard

meshed the channels -->OK

Created Mold surface mesh,

Tried to create 3D Mold mesh --> FAIL.

i dont know what to! plze i need help

thank you
