Insert molding analysis

Hi,

Now, I want to analyse a insert molding. The insert is a metal sheet and is placed on the mold. Then, a resin will inject into cavity and adhere on the metal insert. Can moldflow AMI 2010 analyse this insert molding? Have the total deflection result??

Dear TerrySin,

1. Yes, moldflow could simulate the insert molding which same as your inquiry.
However, if you want to show the level of the adhesion between a insert and a molded part, moldflow doesn't provide that.
2. You can show the deflection of the molded part which including variation of wall thickness of the molded part due to deflection of the instert.
But, I'm not sure that moldflow could provide total deflection considering stiffness and deflection of the insert.
