# How is dynamic paddle shift calculated in AMI?

Dear AMI support guys,

Could you tell me about the subject?

Attached is the example of the paddle shift in packing phase.

In packing phase, a pressure distribution is almost constant, and the diplacement of the lead to y direction is expected not to be occured if only the lead  is considered and constant pressure is imposed on the surface of the lead in structual analysis.

But the result is different, that's why my understanding could be wrong and I need correct information about the method.

I think it's a problem of Moldflow.

I met such troubles.

Look at the picture joined.

The thicker wall of the part is firstly and normaly complete.

The pressure deform the core blade and close the 2nd wall.

Then the filling of this wall continue ! Strange ! Not ?

This is only a simple example of troubles I found about the core shift deplacement.

Your calculation is very interesting

In your calculation, was the option that enables to update the mesh of cavity activated?

If so, I agree with you that the result is strange.

On the other hand, I feel that my calculation itself is right and my understanding about this calculation is merely poor.

I still need help.

Autodesk guys, Could you give me the answer?

Of cause I asked the updating of mesh during the filling simulation.

To tell you all, the soft find a diplacement of the core blade bigger than the wall thickness.

Concerning your trouble, I found the same error : the core blade is deformed during the packing.

Look at the picture joined.

On the grah "displacement" you'll see that the blade :

- deforms more and more during the filling : normal

- refind its natural shape at the end of the filling : normal

- restart to deform during the packing : not normal.
