Glass Fibers flow control ???

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to controle the flow of glass fibers with in the mold ?

The material used is 30%GF. In some of the regions in the design, I don't need the glass fibers.

Is it possible to estimate the fiber density in AMI2013 ?

Regards,

KLP

Hi,
the melt is prepared in the injection molding machine barrel, and is a already a mixture of polymer and glass fibers.
There is no way to separate fibers from polymer when injecting the melt to mold, from what I know.
If no fibers needed, you need to consider another design and/or process.

I am not sure of what you mean by estimate fiber density here.
1) The density of the fiber itself can be found in material properties,
tab Filler Properties
select the filler and click Details>>
There is the density.
2) If you mean density as of amount of fibers in polymer it will be the amount as specified for the filler.
It will be no variation of fiber content over the part as a simulation result.
30% glass fiber, means 30% glass fiber distribution in all elements.
