Gas Assist - Unwanted Delay Time

I am having problems with the Gas Assisted Injection Molding process.  I set the delay time at the inlet to zero, and the pressure at 0 s to 500 psi, then ramp later to 1000 psi.  I put packing to 0 s at 0.  When it says "Gas delay time completed.  Gas injection will start."  it will still stay at .001% Gas volume for an entire second before it starts filling with gas.  A lot of the time the part will freeze off in that one second, and it prevents gas from filling the part as well or even at all.

Is there a way to get a true ZERO second delay before the gas volume starts rising?

See attached log file.

Some other info:  Mesh has 3.6 M elements, thickness minimum at 8 elements, gas was into a very thick section.  This happens on every single gas analysis, no matter what part.

Thanks in advance.
