Cooling during injection molding cycles

Hi All!

Is it possible to monitor the molds heat convection and radiation during mold cycles? (I mean the air around the mold is 23 oC. But what if it is 30 oC. Or 10 oC.)

Is it possible to get the number of cycles - as a result - when the heat of the mold is stabilized from the start of the process? (How many cycles has to be finished before the cycle gets stabilized and the manufacturer gets out the first good product after starting the days job on the machine?)

Thank You,

Balázs

default ambient temperature in moldflow is around 23 deg C, you can change this value in the process controller settings, but how far this change in value will impact the results has to checked, moreover you cannot determine the no of cycles required to determine the stabilization to produce a good quality part.

To figure out how many cycles it takes to reach the equilibrium or steady state in cooling, you would need to run a transient cooling analysis. At this time, Moldflow does not support transient cooling and it supports only cycle average cooling method.

Thank You!

And will we be able to use transient cooling analysis in the future? (In the near future? 🙂 )

Thx,

Balázs
