Hello,
I ave a thin plate wich is welded to something that heats the plate to 400 degress. I would like to see the thermal stress in algor but
everytime I get the following error :
MATERIAL ID # = 1
MATERIAL TEMPERATURE = 0.0000E+00
CHECK THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITIES :
AT LEAST TWO OF THEM MUST BE > 1.0E-09
Error.
The plate is thin and round and I applyed thickness 1.5mm and 400 degrees on one of the faces. What else needs to be configured ?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi, Dan,
your problem looks like a problem about structure stress analysis, instead of heat transfer.
If yes, you should go MES directly, select thermal-elastic material model, input material properties, apply temperature load and constrain. Then you can get the stress caused by thermal load.
Algor also provides thermal-MES coupling analysis.
1.) do heat transfer analysis for temperature distribution;
2.) import above temperature distribution to MES analysis as the thermal load
hope it helpful.
Hello,
I am unable to configure it right. I went to MES element definition configured the material as thermoelastic and configured the thickness as 1.2mm, from thermal I configured 400 degrees . I meshed it as plate mesh quite fine and from analysis parameters
I configured " model only" and 0 degrees.
My analysis stops at the first time step. If I add surface temperature 400 degrees on one sideof the plate and fixed constrain on the same face the analysis also stops at first time step.
Can i send you the file to see where i am wrong ?
Thanks,
Dan
To share your model here is the most efficient way for us to solve your problem, I guess.
I am attaching all the files that Algor built.
Thanks,
Dan
After looking through your model, I found you didn't set material properties for the part.
As shown in the picture, after being assigned one of material in the material lib, the model runs fine.
