meshing a thin cross section

Hello

I need some advice on how to mesh the attached cross section.

its a an assembly of 2 angles (top L and bottom L).

the length of the coulmn would be 50ft.

i am planing to use brick elements and atleast 3 bricks per thickness.

If I import a cad model and mesh it....it almost impossible.

can i do any 2d meshing and build 3d model in asim itself?

any thoughts?

You can import a cad model and use layered mesh option for a simple geometry such as the one in your case. I have attached a meshed model for demo .

I think you can also build the model in Autodesk simulation using lines and structured mesh tools.
