Taking a long time to mesh

Hi,

I have a problem with one of my models. It takes a very long time to mesh. It's not that it creates many elements (only 3-5000 per part), but it takes very long to do so. For example, it can stay at 1500 elements at a certain mesh size for 5-10 minutes without making any progress!

Is this related to complex geometry? Because it's not very complex at all.

I have more than 18GB free RAM, and the CPU usage is only at about 50%, so I don't know what it could be.

May I know the mesh type, brick, tet, shell or something else?

Does this happen during generating surface meshing or solid meshing?

As you know, usually solid meshing is deferred to checking model phase.

Hi,

It seems there were some strange very very thin CAD-surfaces in the model. I redid the part in CAD and now it works.

Thanks
