Modifying fem file

I have a Fem file for a part which can be opened in simulation mechanical 2014. But i didn't have a cad data. I have only a mesh data. I want to make some changes on the part. For example i want cut some regions. Is there any way to modify it on simulation mechanical 2014 software or another?

I tried to open it on inventor but it couldn't open it.

Hi,

Where does the .fem come from? If the CAD file was imported into Sim Mech, it should have the CAD information stored inside the .fem file(for meshing and remeshing), even if you don't have the .ipt file or .prt etc. You can edit the CAD file by opening it in Inventor Fusion via Tools > Edit > CAD with Fusion. Otherwise, I don't think there is an easy way.

Regards

Ilyas
