Job Manager fail to find models on Network Share with Active Directory

Hello Everyone,

 

I am experiencing the following problem. I installed Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2015 with SP1 and I can't run models whose files are situated on a windows network mapped drive.

 

The message I get is quite simple: Analysis Failed. The log files are not so verbose. I appended the log file of a given analysis so that someone interested can check. The thing is, the job process cannot access the network share.

 

Please note that, if I copy all the files to the local computer, the analysis works.

 

I am not a noobie and I know what is happening. The job manager is a service that runs on the background and gets asked by the graphical application to analyse a model on a given file. And it, since it is running with another user, gets access denied.

 

The things I did were:

1- I added EnableLinkedConnections=1 registry key as stated in here: http://technet.microsoft.com/pt-br/library/ee844140(v=ws.10).aspx

I now can access the share using, for examble, Excel if I ask it to run with elevated privileges (run as administrator)

 

It still did not work.

 

2- I changed the user that runs the "Autodesk Mechanical Simulation Job Manager Local Service" to run with the user I am logged in, which clearly has access to the file.

 

It still did not work.

 

The question is: 

1- Is it possible to disable the job manager option thing and go back to the way it was before?

2- If not, how can I make it work with my beloved shared folders?

Hello Everyone,

 

Stopping the service and forcing it to run using that .bat file did not do the trick.

 

Now the application, when run using the .bat file cannot create local folders

 

****, HOW DOES ONE GIVE ACCESS TO THE NETWORK SHARE FOR THE JOB MANAGER?!

Hi 184640,

 

This issue has been resolved in the 2016 release of Simulation Mechanical, I strongly recommend upgrading to that version.
