Different parts merge position in model

How do I reposition separate parts in a model after I have merged to add them?

I merged a new part into my current model but now they are not positioned correctly.

You cannot re-position CAD geometry in Algor.

The thing to do is after meshing all parts, select the part(s) you want to move and Select Sub-entities: Lines and move all the lines to the new position.

Basically, you are moving the lines on the part(s) after meshing.

Drawbacks:

1-      If the mesh on the re-positioned part is to match with other parts that probably won’t happen.  This may or may not be a problem.

2-      If you re-mesh the model the part(s) will go back to the original position.  This is not too bad since you can repeat the re-positioning.

Solution:

Position the parts in their final location before importing into Algor.
