Autodesk Algor Simulation Express and importing Inventor assmbly.

I've downloaded the free Autodesk Algor Simulation Express and have a Inventor assembly that I want check with the software. But I'm not having any luck getting it imported into the analysis program. Anyone know if you can import Inventor assemblies into Algor Simulation Express program, or do you need to add an upgrade to the program?

Thanks,

ji1000,

One can visit the Autodesk Algor Simulation Express download page and verify its abilities:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=13774182

This page states that single part models can be imported from Inventor and most other CAD packages. Your assembly model can easily be imported into the regular Autodesk Algor Simulation 2010 software package.

Did you try exporting your model to a STEP file in Inventor, and then opening the STEP file with Algor?  I've found my best success importing Inventor assemblies that way.
