two-phase flow

Hello

Who have any examples with two-phase flow.

Can I do  analysis of this type in CFD?

Best regards,

Anton

Hi Anton,

Presently, no we cannot run 2 phase flow. We can run scalar models showing diffusion between 2 similar gases, smoke in air for instance.

Is the application totally 2 phase?

Kind regards,

Jon

I would like to calculate the velocity distribution in the flow of oil in a steady volume of air
is it possible?

Hi Anton,

Your closest option would be to run with just air. You could use massed particles to study where oil would be carried to within this but that is as far as we could really go.

Jon can i simulate oil flow to scalar air in CFD? must i find alternative conditions for my task? Kind regards, Anton

Hi Anton,

Yes, we cannot have such radically different fluids mixing in CFD. The only solution would be to use massed particles but this is post processed and not true mixing.
