Please, help me: model of bolt on the canal having a rectangular section

Hello.

I have a problem with CFD Simulation 2013 program. Now, I’m writing my engineering work. I have to do a model of bolt on the canal having a rectangular section. In front of bolt, water is crest up to 3,5 m. Behind the bolt is empty canal. In my work I must designate max water speed and pressure which action on that bolt. I have a model of canal, where the bolt is pick up to 10 mm for a bottom of canal, chunk of water. I don’t know how can I ascribe boundary conditions/initial conditions so as to water can flow in to the empty canal.

I must have this as soon as it possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I am not sure I follow.

What is a water crest of 3.5m?

You should be able to model a boat in water in CFD 2014 though, as we can account for the free surface of the boat, is that what you are running?

You would have a boundary condition for flow on the water only. Is the boat assumed to be moving?

Thanks,

Jon
