Mesh Element Aspect Ratio

In the case of a model that meshed successfully but gave known erroneous results, is there a way to get information on mesh element aspect ratios in the model?  Maybe maximum element aspect ratio, for instance?  This could be a way to determine that highly distorted mesh elements are causing the bad results, leading the user to investigate his CAD model geometry more closely in the affected area.

Sure, you can do that.

Go to Solve -> Results Quantities and turn on Stream Function.

Run the analysis from your last iteration for 0 iterations, just to add this in.

Now you can plot Nodal Aspect Ratio as a result, I suggest ISO surfaces.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi,

I am using audodesk simulatino multiphysics instead of autodesk simulation mechanical.

I have imported an IGS file to carry out static analysis.

Can you please tell me after i mesh my assembly, how can i view the aspect ratio??

Regards,

Can I suggest you post this in the Mechanical Forum?
