Does anyone have any knowledge in this area please?
I have a sealed light unit with a number of LEDs and a driver inside. Is it possible to solve the model in Simulation CFD without specifying and inlet or outlet of air. My aim is to examine different heat sinks to determine which performs most efficiently.
Any input would be much appreciated, even if it a pointer in the right direction within the Simulation CFD program.
Cheers,
Lewis
Hi,
You could simply apply a film coefficient to the outside surfaces of the unit, this would allow heat to be lost. 5W/m2/K at ambient is a good start. This would not be as accurate as running with an extternal air volume though.
