Flow in porous media

Regards

I need to simulate the flow through activate carbon. I tried to create a new material using Darcy's law in wich the program requests  a coefficient of permeability. By suggestions of program help I need to create a surface perpendicular to the flow, but I couldn't get it. The question is how can I get to simulate a gas crossing through that porous media. I need to create a volume of some kind?  What is the process I have to follow?

sincerely

Hi,

I am not sure I an quite clear on what you need help with here, have you a volume or surface positioned where the filter/carbon is?
