Hi,
How different it is to apply temperature dependent piecewise linear total heat generation in a 2-D axisymmetric model compared to a 3-D model?
If applied in a same way as 3-D; the average temperatures in the results are very high in the 2-D model. Could you please help?
Thank you.
Hi,
Dividing the values by 2PI seems working. Product Support could you please confirm this and update the Help Document? Thanks.
Hello,
The area in the documentation that discusses what you were looking for is here:
There is a note "For axisymmetric models, apply the actual total heat generation. Do not apply a per-radian value. Total heat generation boundary conditions applied to Axisymmetric models in CFdesign 2010 are automatically converted to the total value from the per-radian value applied in CFdesign 2010." That mentions that you should be able to apply the entire load.
Did you try without the temperature dependent heat generation? It could be that section of the code didn't include the improvements added in CFdesign 2011.
Thanks,
