Result Global Vectors independent from mesh

Now you get one vector per mesh node. In Areas with small mesh elements ther eis nothing to see excapt vectors.

I agree this would be useful, especially with iso surfaces and for 2D models. 

Have you tried displaying vectors on a cut plane as a work around? You can then control the grid spacing in the vector settings and optionally show the plane in outline mode.
