hi

iam getting Error when i try to use point tools in max.i alos tried out ofr any nwe updates but could'nt find one

being newer to this forum dont know where to post this so pls any body out  there help me please

As you can tell from the error dialog, the technology preview of Project Helix has expired. At this time we have no interest in extending this technology preview. The feedback that we would receive would not apply since our future plans would be based on another technology. The situation has changed with the acquisition of the Alice Labs, and it will take some time to integrate the Alice Labs technology into another technology preview, if we decide to do that at all.

We believe Alice Labs has the best technology for:

•             Viewing clouds in full density without heavy overdraw

•             High visualization speed

•             Fast access to points for interpreting algorithms

•             Photorealistic rendering

We will continue to work with this new technology to perhaps make a technology preview available in the future. I know it’s a difficult situation, but this is why technology previews are technology previews. The expiration dates are published at the onset so everyone knows they will need to be done with their “evaluations” by the end dates. The list of users who have downloaded Project Helix will be the first people we contact if an Alice-Labs-based technology preview becomes available.

Following the aquisition of alice labs is there a way of buying their plugin as it stands? I have a project which i tested last year on the alice labs demo that worked well, now the project has matured and i have no way of completing it. Is there a contact for alice labs or the team?

Thank you for inquiring, but the old plug-in is not being offered. The Alice Labs teams has been integrated into our Reality Capture team, headed by Brian Mathews, and is heads-down working on a new technology preview.
