Shape Extraction for AutoCAD

Hello,

 I'm user of Plant3D, software to design industrial plants. And I don't find in this plug-in some important things:

- Generate only center line of cylindr (without solid o surface): bacause Plant3D generate pipes from lines of AutoCAD.

- Alline generate lines in ortho mode- for example when I generate one cylindr from point cloud never this object is perfecly paralel of X, Y or Z axis. The pipe which I going to draw need to be ortho.

- Joint generate lines with 90º angle- to draw elbow is necesary to have two perpendicular lines and that these lines was stayed in one same axis.

 I don't know if the two last requests is posible, but the first request is very important and exist in all point cloud plug-ins: FARO, pointools, and others.

We currently do not have a Plant 3D solution for Shape Extraction but you could use the general AutoCAD version to extract planar, spherical and cylindrical shapes but as you mention it does not extract centerlines of cylindrical shapes. It is important to note that although the AutoCAD Shape Extraction is free it is a time sensate technology preview not a product for sale and depending on feedback may or may not be a product in the future. I would be happy to forward your contact information to the Plant 3D team to discuss your requirements for any possible future research of point cloud features for Plant 3D.
