Use Background Shader question: can I exclude objects?

Hi,

I have some Use Background shaders that I am using to mask and expose some objects.

HOWEVER, I do have some objects in my scene that I do not want to be affected by those shaders. I do however want them to have all the shadows and reflections, so I'm not sure render layers will do the trick.

Is there a way to set objects to not be affected by a surface shader?

thanks-

Dave

We aren't 100% sure we understand exactly what you are asking for here.

Do you have an example file that helps represent what it is you are trying to achieve?

From reading over it, if it is possible I would think it would have to be done via Render Layers and then composited after the fact.

Best Regards,

Karen

Hi Karen,

I can send you a sample, but I did manage to figure out a way to cheat it using render layers.

THANKS!!

Dave
