Hi,
I am working on a large scene with lots of geometry so I would like to use mental ray render proxies for a lot of the elements. So, I have been exporting the heavier models as .mi files and then pointing a simple cube to the .mi file in the "Render Proxy" field under the Shape tab.
The proxies render as they should (and load very fast).
However, when I apply a Camera Depth pass (with frame buffer set to 16bit-half) the areas where the geometry of the render proxy should exist show up as black, value = 0.
I am using Maya 2012 on Linux.
Has anyone seen this before and have a solution?
Thank you in advance,
Mike
Hello,
I'm back at it, but now in Maya 2014.
Mental ray render proxies still do not show up in the Camera Depth pass.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any solutions?
Mike
