Only some materials showing up in Realistic view

Hello,

I'm running 3ds Max Design 2013. I've got a 3D model made in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. Basically it's just an AutoCAD 2013 model. No C3D-special things like pipe networks and so on. Simply basic 3D Solids and materials applied to them. And some lighting.

I import this DWG to 3ds Max Desing 2013 (including lighting, views etc.). However when I switch view to Realistic I can see just some of the solids being textured.

When I hit the Render button in 3ds Max Desing 2013 I get the image with all the materials applied and in their place.

Is it supposed to be this way? I'm new to 3ds Max so please tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

Cheers!
