instability of type 3

Hey I have instability of type 3 in Rx direction  in my truss ex.

Can someone tell me why?

That's because your model is 3D and each node have 6 degrees of freedom.

 

With current supports your model is a mechanism because it can rotate around X axis.

You need to add new type of support in node 1 OR 7 to prevent rotation around X axis.

 

Look at attached image to see new support's constrains.
