What's recommended hardware to run dynamic analysis?

Hi Pawel/Artur,

My current computer set has 3GHz processor and 3Gb ram. I am runing footfall vibration design for slab model has about 9000 shell elements, it extremely slow. It estimated about 30 hours to run one load case. excitement nodes is about 1900, it take a minute to finish one node.

How much would it help by upgrading computer hardwares? Any advices would be appreciated.

kind regards

The RAM size may be the issue. I would suggest the use of 64-bit version of Robot and increase RAM size.

Thanks Artur,

Do you have 64-bit for robot 2011?

Would that means Window also need be upgraded, my current system is Windows XP.

Can you see how much Ram should increase to? It need be quantified, I can report to company.

Many thanks.

It depends on processor in your computer. If it is 32 bit - you have to change whole computer.

8+ GB RAM for W7 64bit.
