Hi,
I would like to know the formula of thermal load for steel you have on load definition based on BS5950 and BS8110.
i try to put the temperature difference of dT 10C in TZ direction and run annalysis.
i expect the emperature induced loads accounted for 10% to 20% of the total axial load though, it does account less than 1 to 2 % of the total axial load in the results.
i have the formula of it , Pt, which is following
Pt = 1.2xk x A x E x (12x10-6) x TD
1.2 = load factor
k = Thermal expansion factor = 0.8
A = Gross area of section of steel
E =Modulus of Elasticity of steel = 205 kN/mm2
TD = temp difference (C)
please help me up to solve that problem.
thanks and regards,
EunJu
