Hi,
After I assign manually the story of my columns, I get this error: The element exceeds geometric limits of the story.
If I let it assign automatically, I get: The element is not assigned to any story...
What gives?

Check which element and assign it manually. If it is longer \ higher than defined \ assigned story you will get that message about exceeded geometric limits.
The problem is that I have columns that stretch over 3 stories, and I can't seem to assign them manually to any of those stories without getting this error message (red one, not ignorable):
"The element is defined outside the geometric limits of the assigned story"
The only way for this message not to appear is to define automatic story to those columns...
Is there any other way?
"The element is defined outside the geometric limits of the assigned story"
Ignore it = disable automatic verification in job preferences
Is there any other way?
Split columns to "stories" bars
ok, using the divide command? dividing by a plane?
ok, using the divide command?
Yes
dividing by a plane?
Why not, or different option of divide
worked like a charm!
thanks
Steps:
1. Disable Automatic verification in 'Job Preferences'by going to the 'Meshing Option' then uncheck 'kinematic constraints in incoherent points'.
