Section Definition problem

Hi

Im trying to import a dxf file to define a section i require, however when i standardize the section and calculate the results, it stops with Area discretization. and does not complete the calculation of section properties. I have even left my computer turned on over night and still it keeps showing me Area discretization.

I have attached the sections( dxf files) i want to use for my calcs. kindly help me out and help me resolve this issue asap cheers

regards

matt

What do you want to standarize?

This is my understanding of this section - nothing overlapping = nothing to standarize.

Hi Rafal

Thanks for your reply.

Even without standardization its the same, i just tried it out. I tired
this in two diff computers, same result. it freezes with Area
discretization, Im suprised its doing this for such a small section. have
you tried the dxf file on your pc?

It would change the section if i delete the contours, can you show a video
how its done with the plastic section modulus being claculated

As you may see above you have doubled contours - delete on of them

Because I opened dxfs in cm
Edit sec files (they are text files) change "cm" to "mm".

Well as you had told me to change from "cm" to "mm" in the .sec file. I did change from cm to mm but still the section shows up in cm scale. ?
