Poisson's Ratio for Timber

I have defined a new timber material in the job preferences dialogue, and i am getting an error in model verification saying "incorrect poisson's ratio value for the material"

When i select a member and query the properties, it gives me a poisson's ratio of 0, but there is no way that i can see to change this in the job preferences dialogue.

How can i change this to a more reasonable value? I have attached a screen shot of the timber properties i have defined.

It is not an error but a warning so it can be ignored:

Nevertheless reported change request to improve verification for timber members 🙂

Hi,

I also received this message recently for a wooden material created by myself that I use for a long time without problems.

There's no way to correct this poisson's ratio?

It was fixed in RSA 2014. Starting from that release new user-defined timber grades have no zero Poisson's ratio so the warning is not reported.

If you use 2014 or 2015 release but observe this effect because of using the model from some previous version I recommend re-definition and re-assigning the material.

In previous versions it would be necessary to edit the XML file corresponding to the material database to avoid such warning.
