Plate and membrane modelling

Hi, Is there a way to model a panel that can resist in-plane loads and totally neglect out of plane stresses.

Basically I have a T-section and I modelled the T-section as bar element so that RSA can check the design of the member, but then I realised that the Flanges of the T is part of continuous plate that provides in plane stiffeness that I require in the model and I need to model that plate but at the same time I do not want the combined action between the plate and the T-section bar so I want to totally neglect any out- of  - plane contribution of the plate element.

in summary, how to model or specify a membrane and a plate in RSA.

You may try to reduce its inertia
