Load to Mass Conversion

Hello everyone,

During a dynamic analysis of a structure loaded only by it selfweight, what mass the analysis uses if we don't convert the load to mass?

The two results (converting load to mass and not converting it) are very different.

Hi,

What do you mean for dynamic analysis? If you mean modal analysis Robot automatically convert self weight. You have also the option to ignore density in modal analysis, this is often used for seismic analysis of the underground part of the structure that not have dynamic behaviour during the earthquake....no contribution in modql masses.
