Joint steel beam and rc plate

Hi

I am trying to analyze a slab supported by steel beams. Its kinda a spesial situation since we want the steel beams to be bolted up into the slab to act as the tension reinforcement.

What do I have to do to simulate this correctly?

I want to know both the section height for the beam and how many bolts I will need.

You may try the following approach:

1. Define beams under the slab and connect them with the slab by short bar elements

2. Size beams using the steel design module

3. Adjust position of beams depending on  the final section sizes

4. Check shear forces in short bars and use them for bolt design
