Isolated Flat Slab Shell Model

Hello,

I am new to using Robot and hope to analyse an existing flat slab and columns.

I have modelled in slab shell however wondering best way to introduce the supporting RC columns?

Best to add in nodes to the slab panel and create bars of the required cross sectional area? And will I need to release the bars at the slab head?

Many thanks

I have modelled the plate as a floor, and no 'Z' axis. Can  the support be modelled for actual size?

If I understood you correctly :

Thanks Rafal!

One other query, I have been attempting to apply patch loads to a single panel, ( a localised load of 12 kN/m^2) but cannot seem to get it to work.

Is a work-around to add a number of differet panels?

Hello Rafal,

Thanks for your response.

Please find attached model and overmark showing patch live loads.

Any comments or advice, as always greatfully received!

Cheers

I did not pay attention to real dimensions.

Rafal,

As always thank you for your repsonse! Two other queres Smiley Surprised

Once I have ran required reinforcement check, is there a way I can extract design on a nominated cut through slab to check?

And a modelling query, can you release panel moments so that no torque goes into perimeter edge beams?

Cheers

Lee

Do you mean this:

Thanks again Rafal. Hopefully last query for a while Smiley Very Happy

I am struggling to find where I can set a strip width (  say 1.00m )  for FE cuts where I have high local moments and high reinforcement as shown below. I hope to be able to average out in this direction.

many thanks

And I performed a panel cut showing moments etc, however I cannot seem to switch load cases? It seems to be stuck on Dead load only.

Thanks

Use "reduction" - see below or apply rigid links connecting these nodes with surrounding ones

Change cases as always:

Thanks Rafal,

But there does not seem to be an option where I can adjust intergral strip width to say 1.2 or 1.5m or any other width, for example, to accord with relevant codes ?

Many thanks

No, assume it is 1 unit
