Installing RSAP Design Spreadsheets silently...

Hi There,

Has anyone tried to install RSAP Design Spreadsheets / Spreadsheet Calculator silently via SMS or as a package??? I need some advice on how to do this if possible.

Regards,

Duncan

I have updated old document. Screen Shots (paths \ filenames) are outdated but the rest should work.

PS

Of course you can use batch file \ command to run installation:

SpreadsheetCalculator2013_Content.exe -s -f2c:\SC.log    (log file SC.log will be created on each computer on c: root folder)

Many thanks for providing this, however, i'm stuggling to get this to work i think... Are you able to offer any further advice?

I have managed to create a setup.iss file located in the Windows folder by using the -r (switch) which i have copied into a folder on our shared network drive which uses dfs for replication along with the spreadsheetcalculator2013_content.exe

Then I created an ipf file with the following information...

item: Remark
  Text=---Robot Structural Analysis Pro Design Spreadsheets for Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis 2013---
end
item: Execute Program
  Pathname=Extensions\spreadsheetcalculator2013_content.exe
  Command Line=/s
  Default Directory=\\dfs\KITS\ADesk\Robot Structural Analysis Pro 2013 X64
  Flags=00000010
end

Extensions is the folder with the exe and the iss in.

I then compiled the ipf too an exe file and ran the file which seems to do something, however if i check the Control Panel, it doesnt state that the Design Spreadsheets are installed...

I've tried the shortcut as suggested but it didnt do as expected... am i pathing to the wrong thing?

I did have success with the Log file as suggested but it gave me very little information...

[InstallShield Silent]
Version=v7.00
File=Log File
[ResponseResult]
ResultCode=-5

1. Check if SC is working as it should - load any sheet from library.

2. Run installation (-r) manually \ by batch

3. Let me know the results. If failed I need to check this installation on my side.

When i load the Spreadsheet Calculator i just get a blank sheet with no options to select a template...

Installing manually, the Design Spreadsheet works fine and i get a pop up asking which template i want, i just need a way to install this working method silently via SMS.

Would you mind checking from your side and confirming the steps etc.

Duncan

Hi Rafal,

I was wondering if there is an update to this or can i presume that it is not possible to install this silently? i did receive an email from Autodesk asking if this had been resolved of which i said no, but that was the last i heard anything...

Thanks in advance

It seems my fault, I have forgotten that instalation should be "unpacked installation".

use this package http://www.4shared.com/zip/TFRANA_3/SC2013_Content.html

unpack all files to one folder then use setup.exe to record then run installation

Rafal,

Do you know if the same process applies to the 2014 version of the Design Spreadsheets to install them silently?

I'm afraid not, it's asking for the next disk...

"Please insert disk 2 that contains the file data2.cab" - I cannot find this anywhere unfortunately!

P.S - Is there a more simpler may to do this?
