Incorrect Data - Error Nr.5000

During the calculation of a structural model (constitute only by bars elements), when in Buckling Deformation (Analysis Type), I switch off the option Omit case for structure with deformations, an error Nr. 5000 happens, and the calculation process is stopped. This error only happens in this situation, since the model is calculated normally when that option is on.

Is there any way of overpass this error ?

Best regards,

Tarrataca

Error 5000 generally corresponds to memory problems.

If restarting Robot before running your model does not help please attach your model (compressed to ZIP to reduce its size) to check it in more detail.

The model was not attached but if it is the same case are reported via reseller then the reason is in using multi-threaded solver for this type of analysis. Please change to Automatic or Sparse in Tools>Job Preferences> Structure analysis

I got the same error, I read the discussion above, changed the analysys method to Sparse, and back to Automatic.

When set to Automatic, Robot just crashes. When set to Sparse, i get the 5000 error.

What can I do now?

I attached the model.

Thanks in advance

I'm running Robot x64 on Win 7 x64

I got the same error,

Change structure type on SHELL ; 3D frame with FEs can not be calculated as FRAME 3D structure.

Yep, worked!

Thanks again for your swiftness and precission.

Hi,

I recently run an analysis but I've got the same error

I've tried to follow your suggestion above (changing the solver) but the result was still the same. What should I do?

Thanks a lot!

Hi

I'm working on a steel truss power mast and during the calculation of the structural model Robot gives me also the ERROR Nr. 5000. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks in advance!

Is the nonlinear analysis convergent? Is it the same after you change the solver type?

Nonlinear analysis works fine if not selecting Buckling in the "Change of Analysis Type for Selection of Cases" dialog box. Originally I was using Sparse M solver with MDA when I got the Error Nr. 5000. When changing the solver type to Automatic, Error Nr. 5000 appears again (Seems like Sparse M is used In Automatic as well). By choosing Sparse (without M), after a 20 minute run, I get the results. I also tried Skyline wich runs approximately 5 hours. I got the warning: "Instability (of type 3) detected at node 217 in direction RX". Seems like it is releated to big differences in stiffness of elements. Am I right?

If so, is it correct to choose Sparse as solver and go on with the design?

I'm sending the file separately so You could have a look.

Many thanks in advance!

We haven't received the file If you checked the cause of the instability and considered it as not having any negative effect on the obtained results then I think it is.

I have made the quick initial check running your model with for case 1 only. There is no instability reported.

Hello,

I have been getting the same error.

I have tried the following:

- Changing analysis type to Sparse and Automatic. The error was removed, but even after 200 modes, the mass participation ratio is still at 5% which is not logical for such a structure.

- Tried changing the modal analysis types, but no use.

- Checking for modeling problems.

Compared to a working older & simpler model than the attached, it seems that the modal analysis is not working as expected.

Please advise. Thank you.
