Importance Factor and Combination of horizontal quake components

Dear All,

I 'd appreciate your help for the following issues that I couldn't eliminate in RSA.

  • How to set importance factor in RSA2012?
  • HOw to set combinations where it will take into account the following cases which is compulsory in EC8.

    a) E Edx "+" 0,30E Edy (4.18)
    b) 0,30E Edx "+" E Edy (4.19)

    Regards,

I think you are talking about behavior factor?

however, all the parameters are contained in this window.

Thank You Dear T.Sautier,

No behaviour factor is something different where you can fidn it in EC8 "Table 6.2: Upper limit of reference values of behaviour factors for systems regular in elevation" but what I want is IMportance factor as described in EC8 section:The recommended values of γI for importance classes I, III and IV are equal to 0,8, 1,2 and 1,4, respectively. "4.2.5  Importance classes and importance factors " where actually we can feed it to RSA as input. Up to now I was using apiflication factor in ground peak acceleration, e.g.  (1.5)*0.3*g

It seems that Newmark combination is exactly what I'm looking for, let me work on this a bit in depth , I let you know.

You can also set the right value for gammaI in the parameter. Or you can do as you are used to : gammaI = 1.00 and play on the pga.
