Hi,
I'm running seismic analysis, get the Error Code 3701. It's not on the list of error codes that I have.
1. What is this error.
2. Is there an updated error list available?
Thanks,
Tony
Update.
The error was encountered using AS1170.4 seismic case.
If I change to spectral analysis input the curve manually, I don't get this error.
Tony
Not all errors can easily be linked with their causes therefore not all of them are listed. Could you send us the rtd file where this happens please?
Tony,
The file you sent has got no seismic cases defined therefore I defined them using the default parameters. There was no errors reported during calculations. Could you send me the file with seismic cases as you defined them please?
I'm running (Artur: equivalent lateral force method) seismic analysis, get the Error Code 3701. It's not on the list of error codes that I have.
1. What is this error.
The reason can be assigning supports that block horizontal displacements of all nodes of a floor (panel). In such case teh esy solution is to replace them with elastic ones as shown below:

Hi Arthur,
I am experiencing the same problem when using Equivalent Seismic Method.. I am using RSAP 2015
Please See image Below:
What seems to be the problem? I will also attach the File in rar format..
you should:
1. Delete defined storeys.
2. Rounding-up nodes' Z- co-ordinate to 0.01.
3. Remove incorrect bars (245 and 246)
3. Re-define the storey.
I was able to do a work around on this. It seems that EQ Loads does not support Having Supports on top of the truss.. So i replaced them to being slave nodes...

Shall I read this as problem solved and no further help needed?
It can be a problem solved issue...
EQ Load based on ASCE's equivalent lateral loads won't run if we have rigid support on top.. for example: The facade Truss...
It will only work if, top supports are introduced as slave nodes of bottom supports, or
if we introduce spring support in the top support. Determining Spring Support is a little bit tricky.. We have to simulate the spring to act like as close as a fixed support, We minimize movement yet allow movement.. So it is a Trial and Error Process.. But it will Work....
There is a simple rule for this kind of analysis. You cannot support all nodes of a story.

I didn't actually put support per story.. I just placed support on its Bottom and Top Ends. That way to simulate its support when attached the the bldg..
See Image:
I was able to make it work with this setting to simulate attachment of the facade to the building.. However this may be not the case for others..

The missing support you are refering to really does not exist.. it's just on the top part of the frame..
I can't seem to fine any accept solution button here 😕

My point is that in your original model you used dummy support to represent boundary conditions (instead of modelling the whole structure). This is fine but as these supports were defined in all nodes which are also at the "floor level" of the top story you defined the Equivalent Lateral method for seismic analysis reported the error. To run this kind of analysis ypui have top have a node at this level which is not suppported therefore moving the supports to new nodes linked with the nodes tehy were originally defined solved that issue.

Yeah that Model you are looking at is obsolete... I already changed in here. The settings are posted from my previous Post...
This topic has a solution for my scenario... i don't know if it also applies to other issues....
I attached my work around model...
I can't see to find it here any where... The solution button is missing ahahaha!!
I'm facing the same problem, would you please check my model
