Convergance issues with comp only elastic ground & tension only supports

I have a model with a frame bearing on ground with 'rockbolts' installed at various locations. We have assumed the rockbolts take tension only (also lateral shear) and the compression is taken by soil bearing.

I am having some trouble with convergence of the model. I have attached 2 files, one files has the tension only supports at 'extreme' positions (converges) and the other file has them at the 'correct' positions.

I have also had issues with type 2 instabilities but these seem to have been resolved somewhere along my debugging trail.

I have set my non-linear parameters to update the matrix after each iteration as usual.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Daniel
