The error says: "The reinforcement for the foundation flange bending should be foreseen." Looked through help and other posts on this forum and can't figure out what this error means. Any ideas? Thanks.
The RC Continuous Footing module in Robot is based on the assumption that the cross section to be designed is either rectangular of the flange of the inverted T section is small comparing to its web. This module is based on the RC Beam design and is intended to calculate longitudinal and shear reinforcement with no additional calculations for reinforcement needed for 'cantilever' action of flanges. In such case one should use the RC Spread footing module instead.

You can replace the elastic soil with nodal (elastic) supports and export one of them to the RC Spread footing module. After doing this you have two options:
- use the isolated foundation mode (as on the attached picture) with fixed size of the footing and pier
- use the continuous footing mode (as shown on the previous picture). In such case you need to manually enter the loads based on values of the reactions from the selected node.
In both cases you have to mind that the values of reactions in nodes depend on distance between the neighboring supports and you may need to alter the imported values.

what does this calculation error message mean?
Hi @Anonymous
At the first glance it looks like excessive stress in reinforcement bars.
