Compatible nodes

In an RC slab and beam floor, do I need to define the junction of primary beam/secondary beam with compatible nodes (to have same deflection)? Or does the option create a node at the junction of horizontal and vertical bars in the "analysis types" dialog take care of this?

The 'use' of either of them depends on what kind of the connection this is. The latter is just kid of the connection you have e.g. between a primary and a secondary beam in a grillage system whereas compatible nodes are most likely to be used for a rafter - purlin connection or for bracings (see:
