CONCRETE TRACTION

REINFORCEMENT BEAM DESIGN

IS THERE A WAY TO NOT CONSIDER TRACTION IN CONCRETE IN SLS FOR THE STEEL TRACTION DIAGRAM:

PROBABLY IF THE BENDING MOMENT IS UNDER FLEXURAL LIMIT IN SLS, SECTION WORK WITH CONCRETE IN TRACTION.

thanks

Could you be so kind and explain us what do you mean by that?

Preferable on some sketches, diagrams, screen shots...

 I have a 3 span (3m axis to axis) concrete beam 30x45 h.

10 kN load permanent

10 kN load variable

Mqpr (quasi permanent) is about 20 kNm

Area steel is 10cm2 superior, 10 cm2 inferior

in SLS Ats diagram give someting like 25 MPa for steel traction and the same for compression steel.

I would expect a tension in steel of 54 MPa

a compression in concrete of 1,77 MPa

a compression in steel of 18,71 MPa

thats the results of another program for concrete section.

the difference in tension is too much and more in robot compression steel=tension steel so i understand that all concrete section is working.

hope i explained situation

1.The file does not correspond to your description in posts.
2.Unfortunately due to one issue in rc design results display we are unable to check your model precisely.
Sorry for inconvenience.

can u explain it better please,

1)what exately the model do not correspond to my description? (you can easyly recreate the same model or another model : the importance is that quasy permanent moment is lower than concrete traction limit)

2) when you say there is a problem in robot do you mean that the program consider concrede traction under flexural limit moment?

Need steel diagram for my design report
