Buckling analysis for elements with brackets

Hello,

I'm trying to perform a buckling analysis for a column with brackets and the results are not available. For the same frame the analysis is performed for the column without bracket.

So I have to conclude that RSA doesn't perform buckling analysis (with P-D) for elements with bracket?

Thanks in advance!

As it has been already mentioned on the forum the goal of the buckling analysis is to determine the critical level of load that would cause the lack of stability of the entire structure or its part (see e.g. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Robot-Structural/Buckling-Analysis/m-p/3280269).

The values of buckling length is the secondary result and can be displayed only for bars with no intermediate nodes. The definition of the bracket (change of cross section of a bar along its length) causes the automatic generation of the calculation node at the location of the bracket end which divides the bar into two parts. In such case to determine the buckling length you need to use the Euler formula.
